Terms of use

These terms are effective from September 2026 and apply to anyone using this site. In plain terms: this is an independent editorial planning guide, not a live instruction service or a booking platform, and using it to plan outdoor activity is at your own judgement and risk.

Editorial information, not live instruction

Everything on this site — route descriptions, distances, tide guidance, opening hours, transport details and access information — reflects research at the time of writing and can change without notice. Before undertaking any walk or visit described here, verify current conditions through authoritative sources such as the South West Coast Path Association, the National Trust, the Met Office and local transport operators.

Outdoor risk

Coastal walking, cliff-top paths, tidal beaches and former mining sites carry real risks, including unstable ground, unfenced drops and changeable weather. You are responsible for assessing your own fitness, competence and equipment, and for making safe decisions on the day. Nothing in these terms attempts to exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

No bookings or endorsements

This site does not take bookings, sell tickets or process payments of any kind. Mention of a business, attraction or route on this site is editorial judgement only and does not constitute an endorsement, and this site is not affiliated with any tourism board, local authority or heritage body.

Copyright and permitted use

The text, photographs and design of this site are owned by Thistledown Vale or used under licence, and may not be reproduced for commercial purposes without permission. You are welcome to read, share links to, and reference this site for your own personal trip planning.

Links and availability

This site links to external websites, such as official heritage and path-management bodies, for convenience; we are not responsible for the content or availability of those external sites. We aim to keep this site available and accurate, and we correct errors when they're reported, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability.

Governing terms and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. For any question about these terms, email [email protected].
