This policy is effective from September 2026. In plain terms: this site does not use cookies, does not run visitor analytics or advertising trackers, and does not have user accounts. The only personal information it handles is what you choose to send by email.
Information this site receives
Thistledown Vale is a set of static pages with no cookies, no analytics scripts and no advertising trackers of any kind. The webserver that hosts this site may keep standard technical logs, such as IP addresses and requested pages, for security and operational purposes; these logs are not used to build a profile of individual visitors and are not shared with third parties for marketing.
Email correspondence
If you email the editorial desk, we process your message and email address only to respond to your enquiry or correction, and we keep that correspondence only as long as reasonably needed to resolve it or maintain a factual record of a correction. We do not add your email address to any mailing list, and we do not share it with third parties.
Processors and transfers
This site's email is handled by a standard email provider under its own security and privacy terms, and the site's files are served by a standard web hosting provider. Neither processor receives more information than is necessary to deliver email or serve web pages, and no data is knowingly transferred outside the protections required by UK data protection law.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you (limited, in practice, to any email correspondence), to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you believe your data has been mishandled.
